Halloween is nearly here! 🎃

Halloween is nearly here! 🎃

Halloween is nearly here, which means trick-or-treat plans, lolly buckets and some very serious costume decisions are starting to take shape.

For plenty of kids, Halloween isn’t about witches, ghosts or superheroes. They’d much rather dress up as the real-life heroes they see in their community, whether that’s a firefighter, police officer, paramedic, SES volunteer or someone dressed head to toe in hi-vis.

If your little one already knows exactly who they want to be this Halloween, it’s worth getting organised early.

Halloween costumes made for imaginative play

There’s something pretty special about watching kids completely disappear into imaginative play.

One minute they’re standing in the lounge room. The next, they’re responding to an emergency, putting out an imaginary fire, directing traffic or racing off to save the day.

Dress-ups give children the chance to explore the jobs and people they see around them, while creating their own stories along the way.

Halloween just gives them an extra excuse to take that imagination out into the neighbourhood.

Popular Halloween costumes for kids

Our firefighter, police, paramedic, SES and hi-vis outfits are always popular, but demand increases in the lead-up to Halloween.

If your child has their heart set on a particular uniform or size, ordering sooner rather than later gives you the best chance of having everything ready before trick-or-treating begins.

Halloween delivery cut-off dates

To give your Aussie Kids at Work order the best chance of arriving before Halloween, we recommend ordering by the following dates:

NT and WA: 16 October

QLD, SA, NSW, ACT and VIC: 23 October

TAS: 27 October

Express Post is available for metro areas in SA, NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD and TAS until 28 October.

These dates are a guide only. We’ll dispatch orders as quickly as we can, but once your parcel is with Australia Post, delivery times are outside our control.

Ordering early is always the safest option, especially during the busy Halloween period.

A Halloween costume they’ll keep playing with

One of the lovely things about choosing a real-world role-play costume is that Halloween doesn’t have to be the end of it.

That firefighter uniform can come back out for backyard rescues. The police outfit can become part of an elaborate investigation the following weekend. A paramedic uniform can spend months attending to injured teddy bears.

For kids, the costume is often only the beginning of the story.

Whether they’re protecting the neighbourhood, saving the day or simply making everyone smile while collecting lollies, Halloween is another opportunity for children to step into a role, use their imagination and have an absolute ball doing it.

If your little hero already has their Halloween identity sorted, now’s a good time to make sure their uniform is sorted too.
