🐣 Easter School Holidays, The Real Version

The Easter school holidays are here.

And depending on the day, you might be feeling one of two things.

“I love having them home. I don’t want to miss a second.”

Or…

“How many more days until school goes back?”

Truthfully, most of us sit somewhere in between.

Some days feel slow and beautiful.

Other days are loud, messy, and feel very long.

We’re not here to pretend every moment is magical.

But we do know this, when kids are home full-time, they need something to do. Something that doesn’t involve another snack or another screen.

Here are a few simple, real-life ideas for days that need a little help.

Hide a few leftover eggs and turn it into a rescue operation.

They’re on duty. There’s a situation. The eggs need saving.

You’ve just bought yourself a pocket of quiet.

Line up the soft toys. Grab some bandages, or tissues if that’s what you’ve got, and a clipboard.

You’re now off duty. The “chief paramedic” has stepped in.

It’s just a walk, but they’re in charge.

Looking for hazards. Spotting clues.

Suddenly it’s an adventure.

Draw Easter cards and drop them off to a neighbour or grandparent.

It’s a reason to get out of the house, and a small moment of connection for someone else too.
